The little housemaker er er errrrr

All in all, after actually running the household chores all by myself these two weeks and looking after mak; reminding her about her medications and getting her meals ready really made me realise how significant the role of my mak is. Being a housemaker isnt about just running around to get grocerries and cooking them, getting the laundry done. You gotta ensure theres sufficient cold drink in the fridge for the family to have for dinner (means you have to boil the water and then cool it before pouring it into those containers), gotta sweep the house clean, gotta wash, hang and fold the clothes, gotta cook for the family (means you gotta get the grocerries checked, cleaned, chopped) and the list goes on. The responsibility of the housemaker is actually throughout the day, 24/7. The laundry dont get dry instantly, and if it rains, you gotta hang in indoor, thats another extra step to be done, you gotta ensure the food is heated before serving for lunch and dinner (we've bread for breakf), thats means from 9am-8pm, youre pretty occupied with all the household chores! See how super our mums are, long hours but they dont complaint. *Salutes*

Staying at home these 2 weeks has taught me alot. You know theres more to life then 'me' time. You need to sacrifice alot of your own time so that your dad and sister get their own time, able to complete their work/schoolwork, able to get home to relax and eat well, need to accompany mum after dinner on bed because shes too scared to chill alone while dad and sister will be chilling in front of the tv while all you do is whatsapping with the smartphone on bed, by mum's side, rarely get the chance to sneak out because mum will be calling for you and both dad and sister are too tired to accompany her after a long day at work/school. After a 5-day 'work' at home, you can only have your own time on Saturdays as both dad and sister has their own things to do on Sundays. It is really tiring that i get headaches ever so often these days and that i cant help it but to just sleep the day away so that i can have rest time on certain days.

I hope mak will get well soon and will be running the household chores once again but rest assure, i will help as and when i can. Heh.

xoxo,
